Ardice (Dolly) Vivian Russell, age 96, passed away Saturday August 13, 2022, at her daughter’s, Andrea, home in Sequin, Texas. She was born to Walter & Lina (Schaefer) Hild on November 3, 1925, in Schertz, Texas. The family lived in Converse before moving to Cibolo. Ardice attended Schertz-Cibolo High School where she graduated in 1943 and went to work at Randolph Airforce Base where he met Jack Russell who was stationed there during WWII. They were married on March 23, 1946, in Cibolo and moved to Columbus, Ohio, living there for 47 years. She was active in her children’s activities as PTA President, Girl Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher at Riverside Methodist Church where she and Jack were members. She was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest, Denise, entered high school then she worked at Nationwide Insurance in the Medicare Division. When they both retired, they moved to Florida for a year and then returned to her childhood home in Cibolo, TX. After the city of Cibolo purchased their farm, they moved to Schertz, TX. Ardice was a long-time member of St. Paul Evangelical Church and a devout Christian, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a green thumb and loved gardening, sewing, crafting, THE Ohio State Buckeyes and the San Antonio Spurs. She and Jack enjoyed a long loving relationship of over 69 years before his passing in 2015. She will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. We celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
