Anthony Gonzales Munoz

June 17, 1958 — April 5, 2024

Schertz

Anthony G. “The King” Munoz, 65, of Schertz, TX passed away on April 5, 2024, after a long struggle with cancer. Anthony was born on June 17, 1958, in San Francisco, CA to Anita G. & Pedro P. Munoz. Anthony was a star athlete growing up, participating in wrestling & cross country. After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School in San Jose, CA in 1977, Anthony joined the United States Army. He was later stationed in Fort Riley, KS as a SP4. He served on the DMZ line and was later given the “expert” title for the M-16 Rifle. Anthony served in the Military for 3 years with an honorable discharge in 1980, his final ranking was an 11B10 Infantryman. After the military, Anthony pursued his career in the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier where he would later retire in June of 2023 after 30+ years of service.

Anthony loved to go to the Retama Park Racetrack in his free time to watch horse races, every employee there knew who he was. Every Sunday he enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers during football season as well as the Golden State Warriors in basketball season, the San Francisco Giants in baseball season and the San Jose Sharks for Hockey season. There wasn’t a sport Anthony didn’t love. His favorite singer of all time was none other than “The King” (hence his nickname) Elvis Presley. If you were to ask him to give an impression of Elvis, he would nail it, dance moves, voice, everything.

Anthony is survived by his spouse Lori, his two daughters Kristyn and Melissa, his stepsons Jimmie and Tony, his Mother Anita, his four brothers Johnny, Peter, George, and Frank, and his five grandchildren Ariel, Anthony, Alexia, Skylar and Mackenzi. Anthony had seven nieces and eight nephews.

Anthony is preceded in death by his father Pedro P. Munoz, His brothers Robert and Rueben Munoz and his Great Grandson Aziah.

Anthony’s family would like to thank Hope Hospice for their time and compassion during his final times.
