Angelita Rivera

Angelita ‘Angie’ G. Rivera peacefully met Our Lord on March 10,2023 at her home with her loved ones by her bedside.  She was born on October 2, 1937 in Fabian Texas at Lee Moore Ranch.  On November 13, 1954 she married the love of her life, Rodolfo Rivera who served in the United States Air Force.              

Angie is survived by her five children, Richard, Susie, Rodolfo Jr., John ‘JR’, and Sherry; several grandchildren, Robert, Jessica, Mila, Evan, Christopher, Mark, Stephanie, Lynette, Desiree, and Amber; great grandchild, Colton. 

After her children graduated from high school, she devoted her time and gift caring for neighborhood children at home.  Following her dedication with children, she expanded her career at Trinity Baptist Day Care in San Antonio then Mary’s Little Lamb in Schertz, Texas.  Over the years she transitioned to SCUCISD at Samuel Clemens High School where she worked as a dietary aid for 16 years and retired on November 30, 2009 due to health issues. 

She volunteered her time and was a member of Church of the First Born in Schertz led by Pastor Steven Prescod.  She served her time with vacation bible school, preparing snacks for the children, and in the children’s activity department.  Additionally, she was passionate about assisting with the Women’s Ministry.

Her hobbies were few, but spending time outdoors and working in her yard was pure enjoyment along with going out to eat with family and friends.  Her laughter and smile was contiguous.

After a delayed funeral service she was laid to rest on September 27, 2023 alongside her husband at Ft. Sam National Cemetery.  She was much loved and tenderly cared for in her declining years by Sherry, Susie, daughter-in-law Carmen Rodriguez, and Veronica Davila. 

You will greatly be missed, we love you!  Rest in Peace!

In celebration of her life, a Memorial Service will be held on November 13^th at 11:00.  Location:  Church of the First Born, 909 FM 1518, Schertz, Texas 78154.
