Obituary
André W. Fishinger, age 72, passed away on January 20, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Lisbeth; his daughter Janine (Cory) Watts, sons Christopher and Evan; three grandchildren, Sasha, Kyra and Colton, and one great-grandchild, Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents LTC (Army retired) Warren J. Fishinger, a WWII veteran and Janine L. Fishinger, a WWII veteran of the Free French Army.
Being an Army brat, André spent his early years moving from Army post to Army post, wherever his father was stationed, including overseas to Germany and Taiwan. Military service is a trait he learned from his father and André enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1972. His last assigned base was Randolph Air Force Base, and the family moved to Schertz in 1984. André retired from the Air Force in 1996 after 24 years and continued working as an Air Force civilian contractor at Randolph another 24 years until he retired in 2020.
André’s ashes will be interred at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery in a private graveside service.
