Amanda Rutherford

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Amanda Rutherford on October 8th, 2023, at the age of 44.  She was born in El Campo, Texas on January 22, 1979, to Nelson Velazquez Sr. and Alice Moreno.

She is survived by her husband, Duncan Rutherford, and her four children: Natalie Pittman, Connor Rutherford, Bailey “Bee” Rutherford, and Aidan Rutherford. Her brother and his wife - Nelson “Nene” Velasquez and Jenny Velasquez, as well as their two children Esperanza “Ezzie” and Nathan Velasquez, also mourn her passing. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Amelia Pittman, Logan Pittman, and Owen Pittman, and her great-niece, Eden Velasquez.

She will be remembered for her remarkable ability to persevere through tough times, her unwavering capacity to uplift others, and her infectious laugh that could brighten every room.

Her memory will be lived on by her passions:  She cherished preparing delicious meals for her loved ones, she found solace and joy in dancing in the light of the Lord and took immense pleasure in spreading happiness to all that surrounded her.
