Allie Lee Kuhlmann

12 November 1936 – 10 October 2023

Allie (Punkie) Lee Kuhlmann, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, was reunited with her loving husband in heaven on 10 Oct 2023.

Allie was born 12 November 1936 to Allie Mae (Lee) Smith and Raymond Edgar Smith in Eckert, Texas.  When she was four months old, she was taken in by her uncle Willis N. Lee and his wife Georgie H. Lee. They became her Mama and Daddy, raising her in Eckert through her graduation at 16 years old from Fredericksburg High School in 1953.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 58 years, Kenneth Calvin Kuhlmann, and a granddaughter, Clarrisa Ann Kuhlmann.

Allie lived a rich and vibrant life, from growing up in the Texas Hill Country during the aftermath of the Great Depression, to living through WWII and the Korean War, to traveling the world with her husband Kenneth, during his numerous assignments with the U.S. Air Force, both within the US and overseas to Turkey and Thailand.

A devoted mother of four rambunctious boys, Allie served as a Den Mother and Cub Scouts leader, as well as a Sunday School teacher in the various military churches they attended during their travels.

After Kenneth retired from the Air Force, they settled down in Universal City and Allie built a career in restaurant management.  In retirement, she and Kenneth were devoted members of the Schertz United Methodist Church.  She served in multiple leadership roles there, including the Diamond Club, Mesquite Magnolias, the Adult Sunday School and Emmaus Walk programs.

Allie is survived by four sons: Bryan Kuhlmann and his wife, Elizabeth; Mark Kuhlmann and his wife, Carolynn Snyder; Donald Kuhlmann and his wife, Clara; Loren Kuhlmann and his wife, Nichole;  six grandchildren: Benjamin Kuhlmann, Kristina Adolf and her husband Ray, Timothy Kuhlmann, Cameron Kuhlmann, Christopher Kuhlmann and Madison Kuhlmann;  and two great-grandchildren: Graham and Ripley Adolf.

A Celebration of her remarkable life will be held on a date to be announced later.
