Alice Speakmon

August 12, 1923 — June 3, 2008

Alice Helen Speakmon, age 84 of Garden Ridge, passed away on June 3, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin & Anna (Lesko) Macko, husband, Thomas Linell Speakmon and son, James Linell Speakmon. She is survived by her son, David Layton Speakmon & wife, Lorrie; daughter-in-law, Laurie Speakmon; brother, John Macko & wife, Millie; grandchildren, Melissa, Allison, Victoria, Michael, Tim, Kaitlyn and Tom; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Ashley; niece, Joann Buraczenski (who was like a daughter) and nephew, David. Alice was a member of WAVES National, Women of the Sea Services. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30 PM (visitation will be held one hour prior to service) on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where she was a member. Interment will follow, with military honors, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Garden Ridge Lions Club.
