Albert Denner

July 30, 1936 — June 20, 2020

Albert Dwane Denner of Marion, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on 20 June 2020 at the age of 83.

Al was born in Seymour, Missouri to Roy E. and Lida P. Denner on 30 July 1936. He spent his childhood in Seymour before joining the United States Air Force. He served 21 years in the Armed Forces as a Computer Programmer before retiring in Schertz, Texas. He worked at Bank of Commerce and Randolph Air Force Base until he pursued his dream of farming full time.

Al is preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lida Denner, seven brothers, four sisters, his son John Denner, and grandson Christopher McGowan. Al is survived by his wife Helen of 41 years, his sister Mae Fine of West Plains, Missouri, His children Donna McGowan of Atascadero, Ca, Michelle Taylor of Cibolo, Texas, Eric Denner of Cibolo, Texas, Michelle Bricker of Millersville, Maryland, Amy Catiller of Anchorage Alaska, Susan Milligan of Adkins, Texas, 31 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews and friends.

Al was a devoted Husband and Father who loved his family dearly. He loved the outdoors and in his early years was an avid fisherman, making his own bait and entering tournaments across Texas. Later, he spent as much free time as possible at his ranch hunting deer, turkey, hogs and anything else that stood still long enough for him to shoot. Always the do-it-yourselfer, he made his own wine, made incredible beef jerky and even built a home addition for his growing family. When he couldn't get outdoors, he enjoyed watching hunting programs, the Gaither Brothers, and Andy Griffin. Al never took things for granted and worked hard to make use of everything he had. He enjoyed being spoiled by his wife, Helen while his children often chuckled at him getting his hair brushed or his shirt put on. He was truly loved.

A Memorial services will be officiated by Ken Walters at the Seguin Church of Christ on Monday, 29 June 2020 at 11am.

The family requests donations be made in lieu of flowers to the American Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at donate.lls.org.
