Col Dale Lee Norman

U.S. Veteran

Colonel Dale Lee Norman, USAF Ret, slipped the surly bonds of Earth and put out his hand to touch the face of God on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was born on August 27, 1935, in Moore, OK to Buhl Ray Norman and Elva Leah Norman. On March 8, 1965, he married Patricia Thurman Haskins. He is survived by Patricia and their three children, Kimberly Dice and husband Gary; John Haskins and wife Delores; and Michele Norris and husband Morgan; six grandchildren, Micah Dice, Lindsay Dice, Valerie Sulma, Jon Haskins, Cole Norris, and Mason Norris; his brother, Earl Norman and wife Pat; and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren. Colonel Norman graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a decorated Air Force pilot, proudly serving our country for 26 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he started guide fishing with one of his best friends on Choke Canyon and his beloved Lake McQueeney, which he called home. He loved the San Antonio Spurs, the Dallas Cowboys, the Oklahoma Sooners...and the team playing the UT Longhorns that week! He was the "go-to guy " of our family...he always had great advice and could fix anything. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. His life will be celebrated on Jan 4, 2013 with visitation from 5-7 and service at 7pm, Schertz Funeral Home, Schertz, TX. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on January 10, 2013, at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in his name to the American Heart Association.
