Edison Louise Wilkinson, born on September 29, 1924 in Barren County, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Schertz, Texas at the age of 87. She was the daughter of Virgil Bramlett Shelton and Nina Mae (Osborne) Shelton. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. We give thanks to God for the long and blessed life of this good woman. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Jesse Wilkinson; children, Nancy Smith and her husband, John, Susan Mims and her husband, Greg, and William (Bill) Watson Wilkinson II and his wife, Tura; grandchildren, Susan Michelle Smith, John Patrick Smith, Jessica Louise Davis (nee Mims) and her husband, Mark, Sara Mae Wilkinson, Rebecca Grace Wilkinson, Josh, Adam, and Analisa Gonzalez; brother, Robert Shelton and his wife, Janet; sister, Geneva Pitcock and her husband, James, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2012, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Friday, July 20, 2012, at 2:00PM, at Schertz Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will then be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 11:00AM, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
